HARRISBURG, Pa (WJAC) — Pennsylvania State Police on Thursday announced the death of Trooper Dung X. Martinez, who passed away after being hospitalized.
Trooper Martinez, 57, was assigned to Troop T in the King of Prussia area.
"Our department expresses deep sorrow for the sudden loss of a colleague and friend," said Colonel Evanchick. "We wish Trooper Martinez's family and friends comfort and peace during this difficult time and ask Pennsylvanians to keep them in their thoughts.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — There's a new place to eat in Cambria County, and it's called "The Fifth Local Eatery and Alehouse."
"The whole concept and vibe -- we're definitely trying to go for that modern-day bar feel," said partner & co-owner, Corey Crocco.
Corey is also the owner of "Flair of Country Catering" -- partnering with Dom Chippie of "Rizzo's Restaurant of Windber" and the Martella family -- to combine years of restaurant experience in creating something new for the area.
Cello worth $250,000 stolen from a Seattle home
SEATTLE (KOMO) — A cello worth about $250,000 wasstolen from a Seattle home over the weekend, and detectives are seeking information.
The stolen instrument is an "1890 Enrico Marchetti cello with a blue and black carbon fiber case," according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
Officers were called to a Seattle home on the 1600 block of 24th Avenue around 5 p.m. Sunday for reports of a burglary, the SPD said.

Idlewild & SoakZone and Kennywood will be closing for the year on Sept. 7, park officials announced Thursday.
Kennywood officials say they will not be holding their annual holiday-themed events this year either, like Holiday Lights or Phantom Fright Nights.
“While this season has been far different from any other, all of us at Idlewild & SoakZone are extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our loyal Guests and dedicated Team Members,” officials wrote.
Superintendent replaced at SCI Somerset amid multi-facility shakeup
SOMERSET, Pa. — After a Department of Corrections shakeup announced this week, Superintendent Melissa Hainsworth will no longer run SCI Somerset, a state prison that has seen a string of violent and drug-related incidents over the past year, including the killing of a corrections officer, thekilling of an inmate, the arrest of an alleged drug-smuggling officer and multiple attacks attacks on staff members.
Hainsworth, who was promoted to superintendent at Somerset last year, will moveup the highway to SCI Laurel Highlands, a prison known for its medical and elderly wards that was also featured in a 6 News story about rehabilitation earlier this year.
Vermont college confers honorary doctorate in 'litter-ature' to campus cat
CASTLETON, Vt. (TND) — Max, a friendly feline that lives in the neighborhood around Vermont State University’s Castleton campus, can add another title to his resume on top of "good cat" and "soft kitty": doctor. The tabby tuxedo cat, who lives with a family on the street that leads to campus, was given the honorary degree of "doctor of litter-ature" ahead of the main, human student body graduation Saturday.
University officials said Max was receiving the degree for his notable friendliness and the rapport he has built up with the entire campus, from students to faculty and staff, over the last four years.
Ancestry search uncovers Revolutionary War veteran's burial site and descendants
What started as a simple ancestry search led to the discovery of several family members across the country, as well as the burial place of a Revolutionary War veteran in Somerset County.
Lynn Schrock says he had been searching through his family tree when he came across revolutionary soldier Casper Swank. Wanting to learn more, Schrock says he began researching through several historical groups. He says he was surprised to find that historical officials pointed him to another descendant of Casper Swank.
Man arrested in Delaware robbery suspected in slaying
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities say a man arrested in a violent robbery in Delaware earlier this week will face charges in the slaying of a donut ship manager during a robbery in north Philadelphia over the weekend. Chief Inspector Frank Vanore said 39-year-old Keith Gibson is believed responsible for the slaying early Saturday of 40-year-old Christine Lugo. He was arrested after a drugstore robbery and assault early Tuesday in Wilmington, Delaware and is being investigated in a number of other robberies and slayings.
Meet the first Black female pit crew member for Nascar
ABC7 continues to celebrate Black History Month with yet another story of living black history. Brehanna Daniels broke a major barrier back in 2017. That’s when the Norfolk State University grad became the first black female pit crew member for NASCAR.
Daniels, who was a basketball player at Norfolk State, says she was at lunch one day when she got a random heads-up from a friend that NASCAR was holding tryouts at the school.
