BEDFORD -- The former Bedford County Jail is now home to Firesong Handweaving Studio.
But the owner is selling the building, hoping the property will bring a new business to town.
Diane Kelly owns both the handweaving studio and Firesong Farm, a working sheep farm in Schellsburg. She uses the wool from her sheep to create one-of-a-kind scarfs and clothing.

Penn State student dies during THON canning tri

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A Penn State sophomore was killed in a car crash Sunday afternoon on her way back to campus after raising money for children battling pediatric cancer.
It was a somber Monday morning at University Park.
"They looked her up on social media and put a face to the name and that really sets in and that's when the mourning starts," Penn State junior Ava Graham said.

10-year-old boy dies by suicide after being bullied at Indiana school, family says
GREENFIELD, Ind. (CITC) — A 10-year-old Indiana boy died by suicide earlier this month after being bullied at school, his family announced this week.
Sammy Teusch was a student at Greenfield-Central Community Schools, according to WTHR. The Teusch family told the outlet Sammy endured both physical and emotional bullying at school, with classmates allegedly recently beating him up on a school bus.

Toxic gas release likely from Ohio derailment
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (AP) — Authorities were threatening to arrest anyone who doesn’t leave an evacuation zone near the smoldering wreckage of an Ohio train derailment near the Pennsylvania state line and warned Monday there was a high probability of a toxic gas release.
While crews were working to prevent a major explosion, residents were packing overnight bags, loading their pets into cars and searching for hotel rooms. Police in the village of East Palestine moved out of their communication center as the threat of an explosion increased.
What hunters need to know
Although its not officially hunting and trapping season quite yet, those licenses go on sale Monday and this year there's a change on how you can purchase your antlerless deer license.
6 News spoke with an official from the Pennsylvania Game Commission who says hunters can purchase their antlerless license through the mail like usual or they can now go to a hunting store as well as online.
“This year there’s been a change in the antlerless license process,” said Travis Lau, the Communications Director with the PA Game Commission.
Businessman will again seek to build casino near Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania businessman wants to build a harness racing track and casino near Gettysburg, the site of the 1863 battle that turned the tide of the American Civil War.
David LeVan said Thursday he will apply for a harness racing license and a license to operate a casino with slots and table games.
The proposed location on about 700 acres is just east of where U.S. Route 15 crosses the Maryland-Pennsylvania line.
