CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities say a Johnstown couple has been charged in connection to the body found dumped along Route 403 near the Cambria-Indiana county line last week. State police have filed charges against 41-year-old Justin Green and 30-year-old Brooke Pullin. Police say Green faces charges headlined by robbery and criminal homicide, along with abuse of a corpse, while Pullin faces charges related to tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Person dies after falling from stands at Ohio State University graduation

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A person fell from the stands and died during Sunday's graduation ceremony at Ohio State University. The person who died has not been identified. It's also not known if that person was an OSU student. A statement from OSU read: "We are aware of an incident at the stadium during today’s commencement. An individual fell from the stands. Scottie Scheffler's court date postponed after arrest during PGA Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (TND) — A Kentucky court has postponed pro golfer Scottie Scheffler's appearance on charges that he injured a police officer and disobeyed commands outside the gates of Valhalla Golf Club as the venue hosted this year's PGA Championship. We learned about the postponing after Scheffler, who was handcuffed and briefly jailed on Friday, had been due in court Tuesday, after his May 17 arrest at the PGA Championship for reportedly not following police instructions during a pedestrian fatality investigation.

The Washington Post says Sally Buzbee, executive editor since 2021, has stepped down

NEW YORK (AP) — The Washington Post said Sunday that its executive editor, Sally Buzbee, has stepped down after three years at the top of one of journalism's most storied brands. She will be replaced by Matt Murray, former editor in chief of The Wall Street Journal, until this fall's presidential election. Following that, Robert Winnett, currently deputy editor of the Telegraph Media Group, will take over as editor following the election.

37 charged in Blair County drug bust

ALTOONA — Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Friday that criminal charges have been filed against 37 people accused of distributing or possessing illegal drugs in Blair County. The charges are the culmination of a yearlong cooperative investigation between the Office of Attorney General, the Blair County Drug Task Force and the Altoona Police Department. The investigation primarily focused on the distribution of heroin and prescription drugs in Blair County. Molly, Psilocybin mushrooms and other drugs were also being sold by certain people identified in this investigation.

Altoona drug dealer charged in fatal overdose found hiding at rehab

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Police say an alleged drug dealer accused of causing the fatal overdose of a person was arrested Tuesday at a Cambria County rehabilitation facility. According to the Altoona Police Department, 49-year-old Timothy Tombs is facing charges related to drug delivery resulting in death stemming from an investigation in April. Officers say they were called to a home on the 1600 block of 12th Street April 14 for a suspected drug overdose.

Disney's 'Pocahontas' actor arrested in Ohio

XENIA, Ohio (WKEF) — The actor known as the voice of Pocahontas in the Disney film was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct in Ohio. The Xenia Police Department said 55-year-old Irene Bedard-Wilson, of Dayton, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. EDT on Friday at 29 E. Main St. after reports of two women arguing. Bedard-Wilson reportedly walked into the street, "without any regard for traffic." Police said they made contact with Bedard-Wilson and noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath.

Undocumented migrant indicted in killing of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley

ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia man has been indicted on murder charges by grand jurors who said he intended to rape a nursing student whose body was found near a running trail on the University of Georgia campus. It is the first time such a motive has been revealed in the February killing of Laken Hope Riley, which has become a flashpoint in the national debate over immigration reform. UPJ wrestling team wins regional title with 4 individual champs

ERIE, Pa. — Pitt-Johnstown sent six wrestlers into the finals and came away with four champions and a total of eight NCAA national Tournament qualifiers on their way to winning to the 2019-20 NCAA Division II Super Region I Tournament title, Saturday at Mercyhurst University.
