Teen boy killed in overnight house fire in Clearfield County
Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer-Snyder has confirmed to 6 News that a 14-year-old boy was killed in an overnight house fire in Huston Township.
Officials say multiple area crews were dispatched to the home, located along Dr's Lane near Penfield, just after midnight
No other injuries have been reported and fire officials say the cause of the blaze is being investigated by the state police fire marshal.

Human remains found near Disney World reportedly belong to woman missing 12 years
ORLANDO, Fla. (WKRC) — A family believes a set of human remains found near Disney World belongs to their relative, who had been missing for more than a decade.
Sandra Lemire, 47, went missing in May 2012 after going on a date with a man she met online, WESH reports. She was living with her grandmother in Orlando at the time.
The case went cold for 12 years until just a couple of weeks ago, when Orlando Police provided the last location of Sandra's cell phone.

Lancaster man pleads guilty to sexual abuse, filming child in shower
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Lancaster City man has pled guilty to charges related to the sexual abuse of a minor from 2016-2022, the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office announced Monday. Arturo Aleman, 47, was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison, plus five years of probation on Wednesday, Dec. 3. The 14-year-old victim, now 16, reported the abuse to a detective with the Lancaster City Bureau of Police in October of 2022, according to the DA.

2017 Dragons baseball leave legacy at Central
MARTINSBURG -- The Central baseball team won its first-ever state championship in the PIAA AAA Finals last week, beating Holy Redeemer 8-3, an accomplishment that won't be easily forgotten by not only the school but the community.

Blair Co. central court adding new security measures
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Blair County court officials announced Monday that additional security measures will be in place at the Central Court building.
Starting Wednesday, people coming into the Altoona Central Court building for preliminary hearings will be searched, and magnetically wanded upon entry.
Any weapons or contraband found during searches will be seized or destroyed, and the person with them subject to arrest.
Anyone who has a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon will be able to store their firearm in a secured locker until they leave.
Coroner IDs victims of fatal Indiana Co. fire
Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — Indiana County coroner Jerry Overman has identified the victims of Saturday's fatal house fire in East Wheatfield Township.
Officials say 81-year-old Merle Robinson and 75-year-old Janet Bloom both died from "inhalation of combustible products," otherwise known as smoke inhalation, after being trapped inside the residence early Saturday morning.
Investigators say entry into the home was "not possible" when firefighters arrived on scene.
Officials say after the flames were extinguished, firefighters recovered both Robinson and Bloom's bodies.
