JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Just as an announcement from JC Penney comes that it is closing dozens of stores across the country, JC Penney in three area locations announced it is expanding. Monday, a hiring event was held at the Johnstown galleriaGalleria to help fill 70 hairstylist positions for its DuBois, Altoona and Johnstown stores. At the hiring event, applicants were also able to learn a few new skills that they'll be able to take with them no matter where the opportunity takes them.

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Police say a hand-drawn sketch has helped investigators identify a suspect in a theft from a Pennsylvania farmers market. Lancaster police say the suspect, , Hung Phuoc Nguyen, pretended to be an employee before stealing an undisclosed amount in cash from a stand inside Central Market Feb. 6. Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Federal authorities announced that a Cambria County woman has been charged with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud. According to court documents, Florentina Mayko was charged after she allegedly defrauded Medicare and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, between 2017 and 2019. Mayko allegedly submitted medically unnecessary urine drug tests for chronic opioid patients at medical clinics where she served as the chief executive officer.

JWF Industries prepares for Gov. Mike Pence's arrival

JOHNSTOWN - Republican vice presidential nominee, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, is scheduled to host an outdoor rally at JWF Industries on Thursday. The metal manufacturing company's safety director and owner's son, Alex Polacek, worked with staff Wednesday to prepare for Pence's arrival.
