The Penn State Nittany Lions arrived in Atlanta, GA Saturday afternoon ahead of their matchup against Ole Miss in the 56th annual Peach Bowl, according to a press release.
Penn State ranked at number 10 in the AP college football poll while Ole Miss ranked at number 11.
The event will be held at noon December 30 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium and will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN.
The press release states that it will represent the first-ever trip to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl for the Nittany Lions and their first meeting with Ole Miss.
Somerset County Farmers' Market could be back
Earlier this week, the Somerset County Farmer's Market announced it would be shutting down, but just a few days later there is optimism the market will be back.
The farmers’ market was a staple in the community for 17 years.
Somerset resident Art Holme said, “Farmers markets are notorious for bringing people together, offering people just a fun outing so they're great for family.”
Local business owner Meagan Richter is even willing to have a mini farmers’ market of her own on the covered porch at her business, Heirloom Pines Custom Bakery and Coffee Shop.
Wildfire smoke from Canada triggers air quality alerts across multiple US states
WISCONSIN (TND) — Wildfire smoke from Canada has reached the United States and an air quality advisory has been issued for multiple states. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) issued an air quality advisory in nearly 60 counties and warned the entire state could be impacted by smoke Monday. Woodward Camp requests dismissal of lawsuit involving sex abuse claims
Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — The owners of a Centre County sports camp are asking a judge to dismiss a federal lawsuit that includes claims of sexual abuse by a former camp counselor.
In their response filed this week, the owners of Camp Woodward distanced themselves from former gymnastics coach Nathan Singer, who worked at the camp in 2016.
That is when an unnamed junior counselor claims Singer pursued an intimate, inappropriate relationship with her when she was just 17 years old.
Altoona man sentenced for shooting woman in Logan Township last year, DA says
Altoona, PA (WJAC) — An Altoona man was sentenced Thursday for shooting a woman in the Greenwood section of Logan Township in September of last year, according to the Blair County District Attorney Pete Weeks.
Weeks says now 43-year-old Justin LeFevre was sentenced to 38 to 76 years in prison on charges of attempted homicide, robbery and conspiracy.
Police say LeFevre was identified as the suspect in a drug deal/robbery gone awry on Sept.
Former PSU assistant professor updates lawsuit against university
A former Penn State assistant professor is stepping up his allegations against the university and several former coworkers after filing a federal court suit against them earlier this year.
Earlier this week, Michael Nassry filed an amended complaint to his original federal court suit which was first filed this past January.
This complaint contains more details on allegations of a hostile work environment that Nassry says he faced while working at Penn State from 2015 to 2021.

Pennsylvania man dies after being trampled by horse at county fair
MEADVILLE, Pa. — A man thrown from a wagon and trampled by a horse at a Pennsylvania county fair and has died.
The Crawford County coroner's office says 64-year-old Saegertown resident Charles Burns was injured in the accident Wednesday at the Crawford County Fairgrounds and was pronounced dead 15 minutes later at a hospital.
Coroner Scott Schell says Burns was in a wagon that was making a turn when he was ejected and landed underneath the horse.
