Annual Bluegrass festival returns to Centre Co.

CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — The Remington Ryde Bluegrass Festival kicked off Thursday afternoon at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall. Johnstown woman who lied about having cancer sentenced to probation

Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Cambria County District Attorney's office confirmed to 6 News that a local woman who was accused of lying about having cancer in order to raise money has been sentenced. Officials say Brandi Hammers was sentenced to 84 months of probation on Thursday. In May, Hammers pleaded guilty to one felony count of theft by deception. She was arrested and charged last February following a months-long investigation into her alleged fraudulent activity.

Man arrested following shots fired incident at Blair County bar

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Altoona police say one man is in custody following a shots fired incident at a Blair County bar Thursday evening. Police say just before 8 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to Andy's Bar, located along 4th Street in Altoona, for reports of shots being fired. Upon further investigation, police learned that two patrons had reportedly been involved in a verbal altercation, both inside and outside the bar.

Altoona, PA (WJAC) — An Altoona man wanted for attempting to shoot another man at a child's birthday party earlier this year is now in custody, according to online court records. Altoona police say 33-year-old Charles Mobley faces numerous charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery, from the April 23 incident. Authorities say Mobley was reportedly uninvited to the party due to a prior incident with the victim.
