The Saint Francis men's basketball team (8-11, 4-4 NEC) overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to take down the Sacred Heart Pioneers (8-13, 4-4 NEC) 79-78 in front of a raucous crowd on Saturday night. Junior Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) led a season-high six players in double figures with 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.
Weight-lifting competition raises money for DuBois gym's youth programs
DUBOIS, Pa. (WJAC) — It's safe to say that regular physical activities are paramount to kids building up healthy habits and interests. A gym in DuBois hosted another lifting fundraiser Saturday to bolster its free programs for kids.
Despite the heavy weights, this fundraiser was a light-hearted, friendly event — all to support kids' programs at the DuBois WPAL.
From the lean to bulky, gym buffs convened at the WPAL Fitness Center in downtown DuBois for the 2nd Annual Winter Warrior Showdown.
Cambria County man accused of threatening to gun down officials and evading arrest
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — A Cambria County man is facing multiple charges, including felonies, after threatening to harm government officials and law enforcement officers, state police say.
According to a criminal complaint, Brandon Shutty, 42, contacted Western Behavioral Health May 30 complaining that he was done with government and law enforcement, and made several references to "gun down" government officials and committing suicide.

Central PA Festival of the Arts preps for post-Covid return in July
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WJAC) — In less than a month, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts will return to the streets of downtown State College.
But after two years away, there's a lot in store for art-lovers in our region.
"It's a five-day celebration of the arts with performing in visual arts takes place right here in downtown State College," the festival's executive director, Rick Bryant, told 6 News on Wednesday.
Clearfield County withholds infrastructure grant funds for DuBois amid Suplizio fallout
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The fallout after the arrest of the DuBois city manager continues.
The Clearfield County Commissioners this week announced the municipalities where nearly $1.4 million in infrastructure grant money will go. However, the City of DuBois will receive none, this round.
That's because of the state attorney general's theft and fraud charges against the recently suspended DuBois City Manager John "Herm" Suplizio.

Penn State TE Freiermuth declares for 2021 NFL draft
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa (WJAC) — Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth has reportedly declared for the 2021 NFL draft.
“It has been an absolute honor representing the Blue and White these past three seasons,” said Freiermuth. “When I received my offer from Penn State, I knew right away it was the place I wanted to be. Obviously, the way my career ended wasn’t what I wished for, needing season-ending surgery on my shoulder.
Private plane owners can hide flight info from public under new law
WASHINGTON (TND) — Airplane owners can ask the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conceal information identifying them under the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024 President Joe Biden signed into law earlier this month.
The act requires the FAA to establish a process that allows private aircraft owners to ask the agency to hide personally identifiable information from the public.
The bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization is a big win for travelers, the aviation workforce, and our economy,” Biden said.
Spring Twp police welcomes new chief
CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — The Spring Township Police Department welcomed a new Chief of Police on Monday.
Chief Adam Salyards has nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience, having previously served as a community relations officer and then as a sergeant with the State College Police Department.

Authorities give update on skeletal remains found in Bedford County
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Bedford County authorities have identified the human remains found in October.
The Bedford County Coroner's Office said the remains belonged to Robert Cochran, 47, of Canajoharie, New York.
Cochran's remains were found by a hunter and his son in a wooded area above the Mile Level Farm Market and Greenhouses off of Lincoln Highway and were taken to Mercyhurst University to analyzed by a forensic team.
